It's been 7 months from the day we launched our micro enterprise-Foodie Company. And it's completely more than what we expected. Engaging into business is a tough job as it requires much money, time and effort. We realized that such of our business plans and proposed strategies that we already prepared beforehand will not totally be implemented for as business grows, you need to adjust, adapt and think more innovative ways to attract customers, increase sales and gain profit.

A month ago, our finance manager gives us the certain budget allocated for marketing. It's very limited and I, as the promotions manager, was challenged to somehow think of some better ways that could create an effective marketing activities with less effort or cost yet creates a higher impact whether to attract people's attention or encourage them to purchase it.

Marketing doesn't have to be costly especially for micro or medium enterprise or even for some startup company. You just have to secrete those creative or new concepts/resources you and your work teams have and implement it together to see better result.

And from the previous operating months, we come up for some small marketing budgets like this...
  • Start a blog
This is to increase online visibility.

  • Leverage social networks
The company created its facebook page as a means to market their product, post more updates and getting in touch with its current and prospect customers.

  • Attend to some events

KUMBIRA 2014
Foodie Company is very thankful for the Student Entrepreneurship Center Committee for the chance to participate Kumbira 2014.
Kumbira is a professional and student annual culinary show and live competition held in Cagayan de Oro,Mindanao, Philippines.[1] It is the largest culinary event in Mindanao, lasting for three days (wikipedia.com)
Aside from competition, it also has exhibits of different business establishment. This gives us a chance to expose our product through exhibit thus be able to see and experience various culinary work.

  • Practice enhancing customer service skill.
It's the cheapest thing we could do as word of mouth from customer creates higher impact.

  • Create promos, discounts and diversifying to new products.
